The Challenges

Only 26 % of women executives feel inclusive behaviours are considered a criteria for promotion in their company
Russell Reynolds & Associates survey report (2017)

With 40% of the global workforce currently women, only 4.6% of Fortune 500 CEOs are women.
83% of women in middle management desire to move to the next level at work
McKinsey survey report (2015)

The Barriers

Women are more hesitant to advocate for themselves or ask for what they want.
Traditional perceptions of leadership are often associated with predominantly male qualities.

The Limitations

Women have limited access to network and have few women role models in senior leadership positions to look up to.
Too few companies are investing in and developing the next generation of women leaders.

The Opportunity

A McKinsey 2016 research underscores the importance of creating a pipeline of female managers and not simply
“getting lone women to the top.”

The Potential Pay-offs

Companies in the top quartile for gender diversity are 15% more likely to have financial returns above their
respective national industry medians.
In the UK, greater gender diversity on the senior-executive team corresponded to the highest performance uplift:
for every 10% increase in gender diversity, EBIT rose by 3.5%.
More diverse companies, are better able to win top talent, improve their customer orientation, employee
satisfaction and decision making
